Your Proteus is powered by the NMEA bus. Simply power on your NMEA 2000 Bus and Proteus will power on.
If you have easy access to your Proteus device, unplug the NMEA cable and leave it unplugged for 30 seconds and then plug it back in. If you do not have easy access to your Proteus, then power off your NMEA bus for 30 seconds and then power it back on. If you are still having issues refer to the first option.
Proteus connects to your display through the HDMI port. Find the video app/function on your MFD and turn it on. If it is still not showing up be sure to check that the app is displaying the correct “source” (Ex. Like a standard TV).
Make sure that you have pressed the “Transmit” button at the bottom of the Proteus screen. This button powers on your radar. If you are still having trouble, verify that the Radar is functioning properly on your MFD’s radar app.
This is caused by radar gain being too high. Make sure to turn on Auto Focus in the Radar Focus menu at the bottom of the home screen. For more information refer to the “Preferences” section of the User Guide and adjust your settings.
This is caused by radar gain being too low. Make sure to turn on Auto Focus in the Radar Focus menu at the bottom of the home screen. For more information refer to the “Preferences” section of the User Guide and adjust your settings.
The most likely cause is that your compass alignment has not been calibrated. Calibrate the compass or set a “bias” in the radar/compass settings.
Proteus is designed with custom Auto Focus that works very well, and we recommend you give it a try. If you are more comfortable controlling the gain manually then you are welcome to do so, but you may see false or missed targets in the radar tracking.
Check all of the cables on your Proteus and make sure they plugged in properly.
