About ProteusHub Versions

The ProteusHub contains two distinct sets of software that must be up-to-date for best performance. "Software" is the visual app that you interact with. "Firmware" controls communications with the other systems on your boat. If your device does not match the versions listed above, please follow instructions here to update. If you have any problems, please call Tocaro Blue or submit a ticket for support.
The 'minimum stable version' of code is the one that is mandatory for acceptable performance. If you received a ProteusHub with a QR code that is is below the minimum stable version, contact us directly or submit a ticket before installing your Proteus device. Currently, the minimum stable versions are
  1. MINIMUM STABLE SOFTWARE: 1.4.5 (125)
  2. MINIMUM STABLE FIRMWARE: 1.50

How to Check Your Version Numbers

If you have just received a QC card along with a ProteusHub  that is not yet installed it, simply compare the numbers on your card to those listed above. Follow the update process below if your system is out of date.
If you cannot access the Proteus screen, please follow the guide below, or submit a ticket for personal support. Otherwise, once the system is installed, turn on Proteus and tap Menu (top left), Update, and view the Current Version (see screenshots below). If you are within cellular range or have on-boat WIFI, simply tap 'Update Now' to begin the update process. On-screen prompts will notify you of the installation status. Updates can take 5 to 20 minutes based on cellular or wifi signal strength.
If the first update does not succeed, please try the update button again.  If it fails twice,  submit a ticket for personal support.

How to Update Firmware

If you cannot access your Proteus screen even after applying power, it could be due to incomplete video setup on your plotter (Option 1) or due to highly outdated software or firmware (Option 2).
For Option 1, If you think Proteus is probably working but don't know how to make it appear on your plotter, please search for the installation guide for your specific chartplotter or MFD.
For Option 2, (for instance, if the system is frozen or otherwise blank), please call Tocaro Blue or submit a ticket for support. These issue can usually be resolved by our team remotely if your system is powered-on and within cellular range, even if you cannot see the screen.
